JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Quality Manager
Position: Exempt
Location: Asheboro, NC
Manager: Yes
Reports to: Vice President of Compliance & Regulatory
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Quality Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of Inspection at the Westfall Technik site. The Quality Manager is accountable and responsible for end results of department, and the ultimate quality of deliverables to external customers. Responsible for the management and development of the Quality Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality of all product run/shipped (zero defects to customers)
Overall Customer Satisfaction: Quality, Delivery, Responsiveness
Profitability of department: Overtime, Decision Making
100% On-time delivery of all inspections as required
Meet scheduled hours and dates of all tasks, with the goal of completing tasks ahead of schedule.
Utilize machinery & prioritize equipment usage to obtain the quickest lead times
Assist in the development and execution of validation structure and procedure
Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements
Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times
Goal is a self-sustaining department to meet all requirements of customers at Westfall Technik
Specific Responsibilities:
Acts as the BRC Team Leader for the site
Operate all inspection equipment
Complete all inspections & documents
Adjust schedule as needed within the department to maximize output and reduce lead times
Coordinate with Operations Manager
Be the Lead person in the department. First point of contact for ALL department questions
Initial inspection while FOT is being conducted and write work orders with the project manager molding technicians
Coordinate/conduct all production run start up inspections
Inspect and Audit product quality as required (Quality Control) Samplings and Production
First Article Inspections as required
CPK inspections as required
Gauge R & R studies as required
In-Process Inspections as required including SPC
Assist with Quality Procedure Development as required
All Quality of work to the satisfaction of the internal customer (Quality department) & Westfall Engineering guidelines
Feedback on specific ways to improve lead times (information, equipment, software, training etc.)
Manage the calibration systems utilizing other teammates and/or outside services
Assist with the development and execution of shop management systems
Review Employee Evaluations on performance and training
Maintain company organizational chart and Quality Manual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma required
4+ years working in manufacturing
Minimum 6 years working in Quality
Advanced degree a plus
Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational abilities
Ability to promote a Team atmosphere and demonstrate ability to lead a team to complete more and tasks on time
Ability and knowledge to operate all inspection equipment in the department
