Opportunity: Picarro is looking for a detail oriented, process driven, and high energy Environmental Systems Sales Manager (US) to promote Picarro's complete emissions management solutions targeted to comply with EPA test methods, performance specifications (PS), and permitting under the Clean Air Act (CAA). You will become a part of a dynamic team focused on building and growing sales of our complete environmental monitoring tools for regulatory compliance (CEMS), workplace monitoring, and fenceline monitoring. The initial focus will be on the fast growing Ethylene Oxide market (medical sterilization, spice, packaging, transport and warehousing), and will grow to other markets as our offering expands.
This role is fully remote, may require travel.
Qualifications: To be a successful sales manager, you will be organized, disciplined, result driven, self-motivated, team oriented, and require minimal supervision with a strong and positive mind set towards achieving goals. A background in environmental monitoring is a huge advantage for success. Working from a home office, this highly autonomous role requires strong business acumen, planning, and the ability to execute strategically. Strong communication skills are necessary as the role will not only involve direct interface with customer, but also cooperative teamwork to delight our customer's experience.
Technical Sales Representative Responsibilities:
  • Identifying opportunities within existing clients and new prospects
  • Working closely with the Environmental Systems team to learn and articulate the Picarro value proposition, and write sales proposals and quotes for system deployments
  • Maintain appropriate records and forecast business as needed with the Director.
  • Travels throughout the territory to call on regular and prospective customers, talks with customers at their facility, by phone, Zoom or email.
  • Ensuring that sales targets are consistently met.
  • Identify customer and market requirements, share market insights and trends with team.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
Technical Sales Representative Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in environmental, business, or a science related field (or equivalent military experience).
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of sales experience, preferably in environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and related hardware and services.
  • Candidates with no sales experience will be considered if they have significant industry experience in a regulated industry (medical sterilization, petrochemical) or in a technical role at an environmental services company such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Qualified Source Test Individual (QSTI), Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Beneficial but not required - Familiarity with maintaining compliance with environmental regulations of the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time including to our headquarters in Santa Clara, CA
  • A "seek to understand" mentality and ability to learn the value chain of our customers
  • Strong professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to identify and follow up on leads.
  • Exceptional skills in selling products and closing deals.
  • CRM experience; Salesforce, Dynamics, NetSuite
  • Excellent presentation skills and a professional appearance.
  • A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel extensively.
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
Salary & Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $115,000. Your base salary range and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
