Job Description

We are currently seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager who will be responsible for performing insightful and impactful revenue analysis. This person will play an integral part in the daily analysis of inbound revenue transactions. Their responsibilities include working directly as a finance business partner with Sales and Operations on deal structure, defining revenue recognition framework, analyzing pricing for ESP/VSOE of fair value for all products, service, and support, preparing all revenue processing and transaction/analyses. Role will also interface with the external auditors on any revenue recognition issues specific to customer accounts and/or analyses performed/reviewed as necessary. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, a versatile business partner with strong business acumen, coupled with exceptional technical strength that can provide proactive guidance and leadership on deal structuring and project management. This position is remote but in the Pacific Time Zone.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    Collaborate with Sales organization, order management team, corporate legal team to ensure that all revenue transactions are booked in accordance with the Company's revenue recognition policy.
  • Participate in discussions, review draft contracts, and provide recommendations for recognition in accordance with relevant accounting literature and Company's Revenue Recognition Policy.
  • Review revenue contracts to identify various performance obligations and determine appropriate revenue accounting treatment under current revenue recognition rules per ASC 606.
  • Calculate estimated standalone selling price for various performance obligations.
  • Calculate allocation of total contract consideration to multiple performance obligations based on the relative values using the standalone selling price.
  • Publish accounting memo as necessary to document the Company's accounting positions. Work actively with external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are consistent and compliant with GAAP.
  • Responsible for the monthly close on revenue accounting and prepare journal entries to ensure proper accrual or deferral of revenue as appropriate.
  • Work with the Company's international entities team to ensure proper recognition of the Company's revenue and cost and timely reporting.
  • Maintain and update internal controls and policies and procedures documentation for revenue recognition and support internal audits of related controls.
  • Enhance existing processes and automation of Oracle.
  • Support all revenue recognition disclosures in all financial reporting requirements.
  • Create detailed revenue reporting as needed for management purposes as well as other process and control improvement as required.
  • Provide revenue recognition guidance & training to various teams at the international and domestic locations during the year.


Qualifications for this role are:

  • CPA required, BA in Accounting or related majors or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 - 10 years progressive experience plus relevant managerial roles in private companies with Big 4 experience required.
  • Strong technical Revenue Recognition experience, significant knowledge of ASC 606, and all related guidance regarding revenue recognition in a high-tech company.
  • Strong technical, analytical, business partnering, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work and analyze large data sets.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to influence change through written and verbal communications are imperative.
  • Position requires the ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively to target audiences.
  • Results oriented and strong attention to details.
