The Opportunity
This is a highly visible newly created role working on Adobe Express which is one of Adobe's most high-profile products that is a key component to the success of the company's growth strategy moving forward. Adobe Express is at the forefront of delivering Adobe's "Creativity for All" mission and draws on our decades of experience working with the creative community. It makes the core technology in our industry-leading products like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro available with just a few clicks - and with no learning curve.
You'll join an independent, fast-moving team backed by the resources and talent of Adobe. We're fun, hard-working, experienced engineers that are equally capable of giving and receiving technical guidance. The team is contributing to the next generation of creative tools, fully web based and developed using the latest technologies like Web Components, Javascript and Typescript. Our aim is to build fast and easy product experiences that empower students, social influencers, marketers, small businesses - really anyone with something to say - to make something that will stand out and impress their audience.

What you'll do
  • Develop components and services for Adobe Express.
  • Develop high-performance, reliable, testable, well documented and maintainable code.
  • Develop, test and deploy your own code.
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively within a fast-moving development team, with clear, positive, and constructive communication.
  • Grow with the support of your team and help others on the team grow by providing thoughtful feedback and uplifting those around you.
  • Engage with customers to identify problems, test ideas, and refine workflows.
  • Work cross functionally with teams across Adobe, in different geographies.

What you need to succeed
  • Proven computer science fundamentals
  • 3+ years of strong experience building and maintaining high complexity web apps based on any JS stack.
  • Foundational solid skills in Typescript/Javascript, Component Building & Organizing, Separation of concerns.
  • Experience with Web Components: Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, ES Modules, Templates, LitElement.
  • Ability to contribute anywhere in the stack and wear different hats.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent

Bonus
  • Modern web tools & patterns (npm, webpack, rollup, or other bundlers)
  • Knowledge of best practices around monorepo packages
  • Experience building services using Node.js and associated frameworks such as Express.
  • Working in an environment where quality is top of the mind (unit, integration, e2e testing)
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $124,000 -- $234,200 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
