This role focuses on driving improvements throughout production in Motion NEMA Motors in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In this role, you will be responsible to evaluating and executing change control for the site's Process Routings. The role interfaces with internal customers, sometimes under time constraints: Sales, Engineering, Material Planning, Production Personnel, Accounting. Routing Clerk is experienced in the SAP system transactions and approval steps necessary to expediently convert Engineered Specifications and Bills of Materials (new, updated, changed, deleted, rationalized or otherwise modified) into accurately created or updated Manufacturing Process Routings. Routings dictate the optimal Operational Manufacturing Steps, which are then placed in Shop Floor Display.

Your responsibilities

  • Exhibit positive behaviors aligned with ABB's core values & culture
  • Consistently clear & constructive communications (written, oral, email)
  • Understand Technical Data Requests (TDR), engineering drawings and data
  • Handle basic questions relating to the Bill of Materials, Operations & Routings
  • Resolve internal requests to make Routings more accurate (Value Hunts)
  • Execute change management of the site's TDR Process & Routings Issuance in SAP. This may be new product releases or existing routing updates: Follow guidelines, best practices and conditional logic to know the which operational steps to include and in which sequence
  • Diligently keep track of "where-used" search results, and interdependencies within the change management to maintain system data integrity
  • Collaborate with internal customers, primarily Engineering, to obtain the correct information and approvals necessary to release a Process Routing
Your background

  • High School Diploma or GED Required with a minimum 2 years of experience
  • Administrative proficiencies, including computers and MS Windows applications
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with the importance of product/process revision change control
  • Prefer experience with ABB's internal product bill of materials, drawings, and routings
  • SAP ERP System User, preferably the ABB instance called "BUS," with knowledge of its interface to Shop Floor Display Examples include transactional approvals, cataloguing, data mining and reports, and where-used searches
  • Prefer knowledge of ABB's process for Technical Data Requests (TDR) is strongly desired or to be rapidly learned
  • Collaborative, with excellent communication skills
  • Organized, with high attention to tedious details
  • Motivated, self-starter who works well autonomously
  • Credibility to follow through on tasks
  • Fluent English is required
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
