Introduction to the Job

ASML Brion, located in San Jose, CA, is the world leader in developing computational lithography software which enables customers to have the best process window enhancement solution for their ASML DUV and EUV scanners, as well as the best process window control solution to mitigate the process variation during the scanner operation, providing a holistic lithographic solution for advanced nodes in the semiconductor industry.

This position is specifically for computational lithography modeling. ASML Tachyon model is the bedrock on which other computational lithography applications (e.g., OPC, LMC, SMO) are built on, and is the foundation for fast and accurate full-chip applications.

Product engineer is the bridge between product and customer applications. Product engineer owns application technical specification requirements for new products, best practice development for standard or customized applications, and 2nd-line product support.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers to gain understanding of their technical requirements and effectively translate these requirements onto new product capabilities.
  • Support ASML Brion's on-site customer support engineers and be responsible for new product introductions, including educating on-site engineers about ASML Brion's new products.
  • Conduct new product feasibility studies working with R&D.
  • Collect proof book data working with customers, and determine best practices for the products.
  • Perform acceptance tests of the new products.
  • Conduct key customer engagement projects which need to demonstrate the best performance of our products.

Education and Experience

  • PhD, or Master's degree + 2 years in electrical engineering, physics, optics, chemical engineering, IC manufacturing or process technology related field, with experience in lithography, semiconductor/EDA industry
  • Minimum 0-2 of years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Knowledge of Optical physics (especially Fourier optics, EM theory).
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing mask, optical, resist and etch processes.
  • Knowledge of Data Analytics and Machine Learning.
  • Experience with lithography, simulation tools required.
  • Experience with scanners and metrology tools, or IC manufacturing process is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills, both oral and written; able to write and present clearly and convincingly.
  • Script-level programming skill (Python, Matlab, etc.) at least; higher skill level is a plus.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.
  • Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with manager, co-workers and customer.
