Overview

Summary

The Data Analyst - Intern is responsible for analyzing, specifying, and validating the organization's business needs. In this role, the Data Analyst - Intern will assist in designing, developing, and launching efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data supporting business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Data Analyst is also responsible for supporting the development process and ensuring that project deliverables are met according to specifications.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

    Collaborates with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision
  • Participates in interviews and data analysis to document requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications
  • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions
  • Collects, interprets, and performs analysis across large data sets and relational databases
  • Translates conceptual user requirements into data transformation or reporting requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Provides quality assurance of imported data, working with developers and DBA's as needed
  • Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Supports the creation of process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in data analysis, modeling, verification and development
  • Power BI / DAX
  • SQL Experience
  • Excel skills
  • Experience with Data Mapping
  • Experience with Data Modeling
  • Familiarity with sourcing data from Data Warehouse and data mining
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent PC skills and technical fluency
  • Familiarity with software and database development and network architecture
  • Exemplary attention to detail

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have junior or senior status in a degree program at a 4-year accredited college/university
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, or related field of study at an accredited college/university
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.00/hr.

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
