Job Title: Mechanical Insulation Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Documentation: Gather all necessary project documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project.

  • Bid Preparation: Organize bid information and create accessible project folders for team review.

  • Detailed Analysis: Study bid documents, blueprints, and specifications to create precise and accurate estimates.

  • Quantity Survey: Perform thorough quantity surveys matching project scope.

  • Time Management: Efficiently handle multiple bids, requests, client relationships, and ongoing projects.

  • Custom Estimates: Create customized component-based estimates based on accurate quantity surveys to meet each project's unique needs.

  • Client Engagement: Communicate with clients to identify project-specific requirements.

  • Tailored Proposals: Provide written proposals tailored to each project's unique needs.

  • Client Follow-Up: Maintain ongoing communication with clients to secure future projects.

  • Project Setup: Set up projects per the negotiated proposal and scope, including schedule of values, material lists, labor breakdowns, progress scheduling, subcontractor and material supplier buyout, and more.

  • Cost Monitoring: Continuously monitor job costs, ensuring quality control and managing budgets.

  • Project Closeout: Complete project closeout with comprehensive cost capture and negotiated extra work.

Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of Estimating and Project Management methods and tools.

  • Familiarity with Estimating and Project Management Software.

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with mechanical insulation experience preferred.

  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, collaborative environment.

Note: Compensation scale begins at $90,000 to $150,000, based on education and experience. There is a very generous bonus and benefits program.

Bachelors of Construction Engineering (preferred)
