Qualifications:

- Must have/actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Sport Management, Business, or a similar career

- Committed and available to work for the entire length of the program

- Access to reliable transportation to/from the assigned internship site

- Must demonstrate knowledge of the sport of basketball

- The ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with players, coaches, and staff

- Self-starter attitude and team player

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Must possess skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook

Responsibilities:

- The Windy City Lady Ballers and WABA are offering an overall Sport Management Internship to help you get a good grasp for what working in sports entails

- Assist with game day/off-season operations and provide a quality experience for ALL guests at our games

- This internship will ensure that you receive the basic training and understanding of what life in the professional sports world looks like

- Participate as a team member through meetings and offer support to other team members to maximize customer service, retention efforts, and overall customer satisfaction

- Some night and weekend work required, including working special events

Summary:

The Windy City Lady Ballers, a member of the WABA League, are seeking interns for the 2023 season. The WABA is the parent company of the Windy City Lady Ballers. The WABA is a sports management group that oversees multiple league teams and runs an 8-10 game season throughout the United States. Roles will be assigned based on the individual's experience and ability following an interview process to determine the best fit within the organization.

- Marketing / Social Media Staff

- Public Relations & Communications

- Sales Representative (Box Office, Corporate Sales, Sponsorship Support)

- Facility Operations / Special Event Staff

- Fan Engagement Staff

- Game Day Staff
