Job Description

Are you pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Working as an HR Intern for a rapidly growing HR Consulting firm, you will have the opportunity to gain real world HR experience working on various HR-related processes and projects. Through our diverse client base, you will gain exposure to a variety of industries and companies both big and small.

This position is remote but may be required to meet with a local consultant from time to time based in Southeast Michigan, Chicago, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, or Central New Jersey.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Working with several consultants on the team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, dependent on the needs of our clients, such as:

  • Update/standardize job descriptions
  • Update/create new hire or exit checklists
  • Review resumes
  • Schedule and conduct phone screens
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews
  • Order background checks
  • Enter data into HRIS systems/update payroll records
  • Prepare data/reports from HRIS systems
  • Review/process timecards
  • Update/create standard operating procedure documentation

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Strongly prefer rising seniors or juniors with some HR course work.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic math aptitude and ability to do calculations in Excel
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving orientation
  • Team player, results-focused, high ethical standards and strong work ethic
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to both follow structured processes and tolerate ambiguity as situations demand
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to organize work assignments, set priorities, meet deadlines, maintain an efficient workflow, and use time effectively
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
